Remedial
Affording remedy; tending to remedy something.
Intended to correct or improve one's skill.

Arthur's remedial math class is making a significant difference in his grades.

Peripheral

Concerned with relatively minor, irrelevant, or superficial aspects of the subject in question.
Near the surface or outside of; external.

We have covered all the important issues.  The remaining ones to discuss are peripheral to completing the project.

Beguile 

To influence by trickery, flattery; mislead; delude.
To take away from by cheating or deceiving.
To charm or divert.

Katherine's beguile is noticeable when she mingles with a crowd.
