Palpable

Readily or plainly seen, heard, perceived, etc.; obvious; evident: a palpable lie; palpable absurdity.

Capable of being touched or felt; tangible.

Perceptible by palpation. 

The tension in the study between them was palpable.

Mirth

Gaiety or jollity, especially when accompanied by laughter; the excitement and mirth of the holiday season.

Amusement or laughter:  He was unable to conceal his mirth. 

The jolly old fat man was filled with mirth.

Capricious

Subject to, led by, or indicative of caprice or whim; erratic: He's such a capricious boss I never know how he'll react.

Obsolete. fanciful or witty.

Umbrage

1.      offense; annoyance; displeasure: to feel umbrage at a social snub; to give umbrage to
       someone. 

2.      the slightest indication or vaguest feeling of suspicion, doubt, hostility, or the like.

3.      leaves that afford shade, as the foliage of trees.

4.      shade or shadows, as cast by trees.

5.      a shadowy appearance or semblance of something.

I take great umbrage with Mr. Sullivan's presentation.

Cadence

1.      rhythmic flow of a sequence of sounds or words.

2.      a rhythmic pattern that is non-metrically structured.

3.      the beat, rate, or measure of any rhythmic movement.

4.      the flow or rhythm of events, especially the pattern in which something is experienced.

I really enjoy the cadence of his speech.

Reticent

1.      disposed to be silent or not to speak freely; reserved.

2.      reluctant or restrained.

3.      taciturn, quiet, uncommunicative.

At the staff meeting, Molly seemed to be very reticent the entire afternoon.
