The pest control company worked tirelessly to eradicate the infestation. 

Culminate

To reach the highest point, summit, or highest development.
To end or arrive at a final stage.

This recent effort to culminate the group's performance was yet again a disappointment. 

Sanction

Authoritative permission or approval.
Something that serves to support an action.
To authorize, approve or allow.
To impose a penalty.

The team members felt the sanction received by the governing body was too severe.
