Nebulous

Hazy, vague, indistinct or confused.
Cloudy or cloudlike.

His directions were nebulous when they could have been very specific and detailed. 

Guileless

Sincere, honest; straightforward; frank.

He has commanded great respect from his friends for his guileless direction and leadership.
