An adroit move, skillful proceeding.

Jack was able to maneuver in and out traffic like he was an expert driver. 

Belittle

To regard or portray as less impressive or less important than appearances indicate.
Depreciate; disparage.

Joe always feels that Jacqueline makes an intentional effort to belittle his performance at work.

Acclaim

To welcome or salute with shouts of joy and approval.
To announce or proclaim with enthusiastic approval.

The city will welcome home the champions and acclaim them heroes of the community.
